I've been a self harmer most of my life, I've burnt myself, Taken overdoses and I've pulled my hair out a lot over the years but cutting was the big problem. My entire left arm is covered with huge deep scars there's pretty much no skin there that's not scar tissue. I've never taken or posted any pictures of the harm taking place or my scars because it's not something to parade around on the internet for attention it's an illness I suffer from and I feel very private and in a way ashamed about it. My scars aren't arranged in neat little lines and there's not one word carved into my skin. Carving words into your skin is clearly for attention as you want someone to see them, otherwise why carve words into your skin? And then complain when you get called an attention whore  I keep my scars private because I don't need any more attention than they already bring, I get a lot of people staring at me when they think I'm not looking and as a result I have major anxiety issues and never leave the house without being medicated up to the eyeballs. I can't have any skin grafts for my arm for 2 reasons, 1 The scars are too deep and 2 Even if they could do a graft they would have to use skin from my thighs which are also covered in scars. In short self harming has seriously fucked up my life. Wish people would stop glorifying self harm it's not something to post on the internet and compete with your cutting buddies about it's a fucking horrible illness that I and many people cannot control and it's an insult to see it treated so casually by some people, Like a fucking fashion accessory. I wish someone had helped me when I was younger as now I'm stuck with these scars for life and these young girls are gonna be sorry when they're in their 30s with a body full of scars and words. Sorry if I've offended anyone, That wasn't my intention I've just seen so many fucking pictures glorifying this problem recently it's a fucking joke. Cue angry responses.....  |

Why the fuck would you do that? People are right try growing up in Sudan or Samalia and watch your family including your infant get cut into little peices by a machette then you can cry and cut all day long. If your life is so hard invite an ethiopian to come to america and take your place here and you take there place in africa then maybe you will be fucking gratefull for what you have.
