more likely it was caused by the organism wuchereria bancrofti which is transmitted by the bite of a female mosquito. it causes the lymphatics to clog up and leads to that, also known as elephantiasis. it usually takes 9 months to a year after the bite to get the symptoms and things only get bigger from there
