I'm someone who naturally has problems with their teeth. I have to use prescription toothpaste to keep problems at bay. Could be genetics. Hard to tell.

Agreed, I take very good care of my teeth and had to have two root canals. Then I had to have both of them redone only to end up having one of those go bad and have the tooth extracted. Unfortunately, a crappy dentist contributed to that by not sealing the root canals correctly.  |

I think the black may have been metal with white porcelain coating in front. I suspect that they are implants. The pus was from an infected implant. |

I never had anything more than a filling done. I like never eat candy or chocolate and always brush well. It would be better if I flossed more.

There is nothing like dental infection in the roots! They are ultra nasty and it is hard for antibiotics to reach there.

You're right. I'm old and I've only had one cavity; never had braces, etc. Dentist said a lot of the cavity protection was genetic. It goes both ways. On the other hand, I am blind as a fucking bat.  |
