A lot of police officers here chew, cuz they can't smoke while on duty. An ex of mine still chews, despite having lost most of his teeth, because of it. A very gross habit, if you ask me.

I dip occasionally, but what gets me is the people who think that's so disgusting, yet they smoke and smell like an ashtray. I can dip anywhere and not bother anyone, yet even if somebody smokes outside when they come in they stink the whole damn room up. That is disgusting.

Not to mention, with the way people eat these days I'll probably live longer dipping than all the fat-asses that eat fast-food 3 times a day or cook their food out of a box.

Here in SW MO, a shit-ton of people still use smokeless tobacco. I'm not talking about pouched, leaf tobacco (like Red Man or Levi Garrett), but moist smokeless tobacco that comes in a round tin, like SKOAL, Copenhagen, etc.

When I was working for Microsoft and driving all over the South-Central US visiting customer sites, I chewed for a couple of years to help stay awake while driving. That shit has many times more nicotine than a cigarette in each lipful. It was also popular in college to help stay awake while studying.

It's not just a rural thing, as I knew plenty of folks who worked at Microsoft's Irving, TX office who dipped smokeless tobacco.

I've been off that shit for many years now, but there are still a bunch of folks who still use that stuff.

Yeah I live in Kansas City MO and I used to chew... gave it up (along with smoking years ago).

Never could dip and embalm at the same time. I rarely spit and the chemicals in the air... just makes you want to puke. Smoking was alright but the owner didn't allow it... not that they could smell it in the prep room from a late night embalming
