Re: The Problem with Drugs...
Kakasaku... You are preaching to the choir. I've been using coke and meth since 2001. I'm not proud of it, it's a very unhealthy lifestyle and I don't recommend it to anyone - but believe me that I know what blow is cut with and what good/pure crystal meth looks like. I've had amazing - still in rock form right off a 1kg brick - blow (no not crack) and I've had what was probably caffeine mixed with lidocaine being sold as blow. In terms of crystal meth, I've come across clear, blue, yellow and brown shards. Clear and blue are good, yellow is ok, brown is from a dirty batch. I've had incredible I-can't-feel-my-face-and-my-ears-are-ringing skiing trips as well as really long tweaking benders where I've stayed up for close to 2 weeks and I was hallucinating. I've also had very shitty trips where I felt either very sick or nothing at all. I've OD'd on both blow and meth. I'm lucky to be alive. For the past 3 years, I've been much cleaner (I haven't been using more than once or twice every 6 months) but from 2001 to early 2008, I had stretches where I would use several times a week. Again, both are nasty habits (especially the meth) and again, I'm fortunate I'm still alive. I'm very fortunate I was able to finish college and have a well paying full time job. Addiction is a bitch and not a day goes by where I don't think of getting high but I sticking to weed |

Re: The Problem with Drugs...
Too bad that the invisible marketing machine sells the 'rebellious' aspect of drug use. Gets the kids all excited and into it. Of course, like cigarettes, just make the first one free, and you're pretty much there for most of that shit. For 420, just keep pushing the 'counter-cultural' associations. Man, the teens just swallow that stuff whole! Suckers.* * Of course, I direct these comments to the 'street' side of things, not the Rx side. |

Re: The Problem with Drugs...
Just read some comments above. My stuff is just opinion. Just mouthing off. I'm kind of interested in the anthropology of it. How groups respond to social stimuli, etc. I try to stay away from the personal/individual aspects of it, although I have been involved to a certain extent myself in the distant past. Keep on the Rx, you two. You'll slowly move away from all that stuff, like most people do. Good luck.

Re: The Problem with Drugs...
Impressive. Now this is what they should be showing the kids in those shitty D.A.R.E. programs, rather than teaching stupid songs and telling 'em to 'just say no.' Maybe showing them why you should say 'no' would work better... Just sayin'. |
