Re: Post Your Injuries!
the only time i needed stitches in an incident unrelated to any surgical procedure wasn't all that gruesome sounding, and pretty mild, but i looked fukn brutal... i think i was in 4th grade and my brother slammed my head into the merry-go-round at the park (we got pretty physical with the fighting), my glasses cut into my eyebrow and the bleeding was insane, covered in the blood, my mom gave me a towel to apply pressure to it but the towel was soon soaked :P upside : i don't hafta pluck that eyebrow cause the scar tissue ended up being in just the right spot lol |

Re: Post Your Injuries!
Not really an injury per say, but a week after recovering from foot surgery when I couldn't walk for nearly three months I keeled over with appendicitis. After 36 hours of increasing pain and running out of options to rid the pain (including vicodin left over from the foot surgery) I dragged my roommate out of his bedroom to take me to the ER. The ER nurses were wonderful. They're always on the ball. The surgery was brutal though. Nothing neat. They just cut me wide open, snipped the appendage, put my guts back in some type of order and stapled it all closed. After waking up when the nurses were moving me off the table I was in just as much pain as when I first walked in the place. I was given five doses of morphine which completely failed to touch the pain, then given a drip of something morphine based that made me itch like mad and the overnight nurses were a nightmare. They tried to give me something that was clearly on my wrist not to give me. With a painful and grossly distorted belly and high off my ass, they told me I had to either clean another patient's waste in a bucket in the bathroom or trek all the way down to the other end of the hallway with IV in tow to use the restroom there. I was not a very happy person. This was four years ago. My stomach did go down to somewhat normal size again (though will probably never be as flat as it was before the surgery) and I've had intestinal problems since. |

Re: Post Your Injuries!
impressive pix from my reconstructive knee surgery, the surgeons did a really good patch up job The other two pictures are a shirt I was wearing when I got into a fight, my friend's neighbour was threatening me when we were jumping out of the first floor window of my friend's house.... and this pissed me off, I climbed the window and walked along the cutter from my friend's house onto his neighbour's roof and punching the guy through his window... that needed a few stitches... you can see the cuts in the shirt where the broken glass went through and into my arm in both pictures. the cut into my tricep was so deep the flesh was folding inside out showing this kind of orange coloured matter. the last picture is of a little eh, accident I had with a blade, the long scar running down my arm was an ex gf who cut me open with a box cutter. and a little video clip of it or something. |
