ESPN's Shaka Hislop Collapsed at Rose Bowl, Pasadena, July 23, 2023
ESPN soccer analyst Shaka Hislop collapsed during a live pregame broadcast at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on July 23, 2023, before an exhibition match between Real Madrid and AC Milan. Hislop, 54, a former Premier League goalkeeper, became unsteady while speaking with co-host Dan Thomas and fell toward him. Thomas called for medical help, and medical staff attended to Hislop. At halftime, Thomas said Hislop was conscious and talking, but that it was too early for a medical diagnosis. The following day, Hislop released a video thanking the Rose Bowl medical staff and saying he would seek medical advice. Neither Hislop nor ESPN gave a cause for the collapse. |

he fainted and is alright. Some people say it was because of the heat. What was that guy in the stands trying to do anyway. Help and be the hero of the day with medical staff already on the scene? |
