Re: Pompholyx (Trypophobiac's Nightmare... Kinda.)

I broke out with this last year after a trip to the Virgin Islands. I'd never been so close to the equator, so I think the constant sun exposure did it. Another clue pointing to that, is that it all started 2 weeks after the trip, and so my sunburns would've already blistered by then, but I started to get a couple itchy blisters on my scalp and one area I missed sunblock. But the day I noticed the blisters on my palms and fingers, I felt feverish and my arms went numb (this was due to lymph nodes swelling). The blisters started itching. Then the soles of my feet. This wasn't a normal itch. I literally couldn't sleep at night because of it. The doc didn't know what it was but gave me steroid cream. This helped enough so I could sleep, but they still itched. After the itching started to subside, the peeling started. Huge layers and chunks to little tiny pieces of skin coming off. Even my fingernails began to become pitted. I thought I'd lose them, but they grew back normal, eventually. Guess ill never live in the tropics

Neat. I get those little bastard blisters from time to time. Always wondered what caused it. They don't seem to really come out unless my ezcema starts up. I thought it was associated with my ezcema and now I know!
