Vientiane, Laos- J.A.L.S., a 24-year-old Laotian political activist, was shot dead in Vientiane. The shooter is thought to be a secret police officer. While there is no statement from the Lao authorities.

3 May 2023, Radio Free Asia news agency The Lao language region reports that on April 29, 2023 at 10:26 a.m., J.A.L.S., a 24-year-old democratic activist in Laos who often posts messages and video clips criticizing the administration of the Lao government. Through a Facebook page called “ Keyboard Driven ”, he was shot twice by a male assailant at After School Chocolate & Bar, Ban Dong Miang, Chanthaburi. which is the capital city of Vientiane, Laos, later on May 1, information was published through social media that J.A. deceased.

Ever since J.A. set up a Facebook page Since March 22, 2022, he has consistently posted information and criticized the administration of the country by the Lao authorities.
