Re: Pictures of a Shark Attack Victim From Australia
Get used to these, they will start to get more frequent as overfishing has plummeted fish stocks. Sharks gotta eat. |

Re: Pictures of a Shark Attack Victim From Australia
It's also down to stupidity where swimmers/surfers are stupid enough to go in known seal/fish migration lanes (or season). I watched a guy swim towards a shark and his wife said he had been trying to play with a dolphin .. I pointed out that dolphins tails move in opposite directions and it was a shark her husband had been trying to engage with ... she screamed bloody murder .. husband swam back to shore and they both asked why there were sharks in the area ... the fact that the migrating salmon, herring and seals never came into their heads ... stupidity is the key factor in a lot of cases .. don't blame the shark .. it's what they do

Re: Pictures of a Shark Attack Victim From Australia
Sharks aren't that bad ! Hollywood has turned them into the most hated & feared creature on the planet, besides snakes, & you just need to be educated enough to know how to identify a shark & act accordingly, as certain sharks have different behavioral characteristics that you can determine if they pose a threat or not & either stay or leave the area. In the end, you are never going to see people stop swimming, diving & enjoying the ocean, nor are you ever going to get the sharks out of the ocean, so education is the only medium that will help people understand the potential risks of the activity they wish to do, in or on the ocean. You don't need to fear sharks, you need to understand them ! |
