Their skin looks like that because they believe there's something crawling underneath their skin. They scratch the skin as long as they can see beneath it. Atleast this is what I once saw in a document. Not sure if it was cocaine though.

Yeah, mit.myr is right, her leg is like that because she missed injecting into the vein which probably became an absess that got infected and since she more than likely had poor health care it got much worse. Heroin addiction is probably hell on earth for addicts and living in Russia can't make it much better.

The hard opiates like heroine, morphine, pills, they seem to have that effect on the skin. Most often in women though, weird.
