I'd like to think that I would have turned around if I heard someone coming up behind me... Still, this kind of ambush would be pretty damn hard to survive on a good day.

I'd like to think that I would have turned around if I heard someone coming up behind me... Still, this kind of ambush would be pretty damn hard to survive on a good day.
If i was living in brazil/philippines i would be paranoid everytime i saw a guy on a bike.

That is actually a traffic enforcer

CCTV footage showed a Dasmariñas City, Cavite traffic enforcer being shot at close range in broad daylight.

The video showed E. Q. talking with his colleague when a lone gunman onboard a motorcycle approached him from behind and shot him several times.

E. Q, who was shot in the jaw and body, was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Dasmariñas City Police said the victim survived the shooting and was in stable condition. They are looking into his work as the possible motive for the shooting.

Meanwhile, Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Bargaza and Cavite 4th district Representative Elpidio Bargaza Jr. are offering P100,000 to anybody who can help authorities arrest the suspect.

The amount of times I've scared the shit out of people riding my bike past them (on gravel no less) because they had no idea I was there makes me think there really isn't a counter to these types of ambushes aside from being twitchy af and looking around yourself constantly. Though this was pretty clearly a motorbike of some sort so it's weird that he didn't at least turn to see who was there.

Which.. is.. a.. cop..?
Here in the Philippines, being a traffic enforcer does not mean that one is also a cop. A civilian with formal training in traffic enforcement is good enough to be a traffic enforcer; and does not need to undergo years of study being a policeman.

Though of course, our cops have more power over traffic enforcers and can direct the flow of traffic whenever necessary.
