Some Docs will do that. Maggot therapy has been shown to work the same, sometimes better than traditional IV therapies with relatively useless antibiotics. Unfortunately, when the wounds exceed a certain perimeter, abx are the preferred method & is usually accompanied by vascular support, and breathing support as well. Honestly though, not enough American MDs have been exposed to many cases of MRSA or VRSA and it gets misdiagnosed or not picked up on at all. |
