Re: Nasty Childbirth Complications

The picture from the baby shows what a forceps delivery did to him: You can clearly see the imprints of the forceps on his forehead. The forceps also damaged his nose.
These kind of injuries are very common with a forceps-delivery.
My great niece had forceps marks on her cheeks! I hated seeing her that way! I felt bad for her.

I don't know what that is, but, I had a friend ask for extra stitches after giving birth to her twins.

watching your wife give birth is like watching your favorite restaurant burn down...you know you'll eat there again, but it'll never taste the same

Re: Nasty Childbirth Complications

I was lucky to be spared from all of these. I had 2 c-sections due to my inability to open past the four centimeter mark due to a defective cervix (of course they didnt realize this problem until i had been induced for 24 hours) but they carry there own complications. I had infections with both including fluid drainage. I felt like I had been gutted for months! But my brother and I both were forceps babies and I have a bunch of pictures of us all bruised up. My brother got the worst of it though. He looked like he had been hit by a truck. I used to tease him about how he should have sued the doctor because that must of been what caused his brain damage! If looks could kill I would not be here right now! God, I miss him and our brother/sister "spats"!

Re: Nasty Childbirth Complications

My poor sister-in-law was given an episiotomy and still managed to get a two-inch tear. Then again she weighs about 110 pounds soaking wet, and my nephew was almost ten pounds!
