Re: Nasty Accident Completely Destroys Man's Face
Couldn't have said it better! I knew a guy that survived an operation similar to that. He had a growth that literally sprouted and grew to the point of cutting off his air supply. All was known but it grew like it was on steroids and became life threatening in less in two weeks. |

Re: Nasty Accident Completely Destroys Man's Face
yes some head/neck cancers are very aggressive in growth, and often in a lot of cases present just with symptoms of a persistant sore throat , hoarse voice, or lump. it is amazing when seeing these types of operations, seeing the structures/major vessels within the neck when dissecting to reach the tumour is eye opening. the operations like the one shown above look like the patient would be left with some awful scars, but they dont really look bad at all once healed. depending on the severity of the cancer and resection, the surgeon sometimes uses part of a patients forearm to replace tissue lost, i wish i could take some pics of the procedures to show you all on here but sadly i,d lose my job if i was caught ! |
