Here in the UK a policeman took some booze, some pills and himself up into the hills during a snowy spell to take his own life. It is apparently a painless way to go. I think he had been caught cheating on his wife. He was naked in the snow, with the bottle half empty.

Actually, people who are lost or otherwise exposed to freezing temps, snow, blizzards, etc....as they begin to shut down and begin the death process, they "feel really hot" so they rip off their clothes as they stagger around. This is very commonplace actually, in cold wilderness areas to finally find the victim by following a trail of shed clothes
