Mystery Flesh Eating Bug Has Been Ravishing This Guys Face for 10 Years.
Mystery flesh-eating virus rots man's face for 10 years - while he's still alive WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS VERY GRAPHIC CONTENT - The full extent of the man's injuries are revealed. A man is finally being helped by top medical professionals after a mystery disease has eaten away most of his face. The man, who lives in Saigon, in southern Vietnam, has had the condition for more than 10 years but was unable to get a diagnosis from doctors. But after his story was shared by local media, a top medic has now agreed to take on the case. The mystery virus has caused him to lose the roof of his mouth and nose but also his eyes. The wife of Huynh Van Dat, 51, said although he could no longer eat properly or speak, his mind was still perfectly strong and he was well aware of the horrific fate he has been suffering from since the strange condition started 11 years ago. Huynh Thi Trieu said her husband's condition first manifested in 2004, when he began getting nosebleeds that occurred up to three or four times a day. She said: "He was taking traditional medicines but they didn't make any difference, and then he also started to have problems with his eyes which were constantly watering." Dat went to Hoa Hoa Hospital in Saigon for examination where doctors realised there was a problem with his nose partition which was diagnosed as a deviated nasal septum, and immediately operated on it.But it did not seem to slow the pace of the disease and a year later the poor man discovered that whenever he drank water, it ran into his nose through a hole in the roof of his mouth. Several months later, the hole got bigger and spread to the nose partition. In a panic, Dat went to Van Hanh Hospital, where doctors said he suffered from nose bridge failure and performed a second surgery - which, again, did nothing to help. Dat then saw doctors at the Pharma University and the Vietnam-France Hospital. They all said that he had had nose bridge failure which was a disease that could be cured, but at a cost that he could not afford. He continued to pay what he could but when the money ran out, he returned home once again and tried to get by using traditional medicine based on herbs he could find locally. His wife said: "The disease which started with a hole in his nose simply grew and it ate his nose, upper jaw and his eyes. There is no bleeding, but when he could still talk he had told us it was incredibly painful." He now lies on a bed because he is blind, and the only senses that were left after he lost the ability talk or eat properly were the ability to touch and hear. But after the story and pictures were published in local media, a team of medics visited him and promised to do what they could to help in order to ease his suffering. The reports did not indicate when the treatment would start or whether there was any hope of repairing any of the horrific damage. The most chilling bit was that when he could still talk, he said it was painful. And it sounded like he was crying in the video. :( That poor, poor man. |

One thing I would definitely not do is: Touch him, then rub my face. That womans tears may turn into victim #2.
