My Woodworking Accident (hand Laceration)
One handed posting from the ER. Slipped with my carving knife. Hurt like whoah. Getting stitched as I type this.

..and I ended up with 15 stitches. :/ Laceration was about 3" long. Moral of story: use your bench vise ALWAYS. Post-stitch photo to follow, once I actually get some sleep.

Nice one, it's great that people on here still take the time to take a pictures or video of their conditions/injuries whilst going through this. Top folks for thinking of the DR community  Hope it's a speedy recovery  |

Heh, in a messed-up sort of way, I was actually glad to remember that DR existed during the worst of the ordeal. I would not wish this sort of injury on anyone, least of all myself, but knowing there was somewhere I could share the gory evidence of my fail where it would actually be appreciated was weirdly...comforting, or something. Plus it was nice to have the distraction of fiddling with my iphone and uploading stuff while they were stabbing me with xylocaine and stitching me up. Otherwise I'd just have been sitting there staring and trying not to pass out (though weirdly enough the closest I came to actually hitting the floor was at the end after they gave me a tetanus shot,  ).Anyway, here are some more pictures. One of the pool of blood and gauze my hand was sitting in prior to stitching, one of the site immediately post-stitching, one after cleaning, and one post-wrapping. I have definitely learned a whole slew of lessons here and if nothing else, I hope that my nasty-ass pictures may go on to inspire other hobbyists to watch how they hold their tools.  ·  ·  ·  · |

LOL, ack, thankfully nothing was actually detached. Just ripped open. :P Which was bad enough, but I know it could have been way worse too.
