Re: My Sons Hemangioma * Update

First Post! :] I first noticed it right after he was born, just a few small red spots. By the time he was about three months the spots had spread out and became engorged. We went to a few doctors and finally got prescribed a medication called propranolol, which is usually used to treat high blood pressure. It worked for a little bit, decreasing the size. But after 5 or 6 months on it, it wasn't doing anything anymore. He's been off from it for about 2 months now and the size has once again increased. He's ten months right now and it's about the size of a quarter. Maybe a bit bigger. I don't know what the next step is. More propranolol or surgery.
Hope he gets through this. my thoughts are with the cutey and you

Re: My Sons Hemangioma * Update

It had nothing to do with me! Well, aside from hemangiomas being in my genetics. It takes time and patience for them to go away on their own.
Exactly!! A lot of parents would have not have been so patient!

Glad it reduced in size! It's always difficult, when our little ones have medical issues

That's some weird stuff. Hope in a couple of years it completely vanishes

Re: My Sons Hemangioma * Update

I was born with one on my shoulder. Over the years it faded away until it's only a bundle of capillaries without any muscle density underneath. My mom was going to look into surgery if it hadn't have faded on it's own.
