My Mom's Infected Leg Wound.
My Mom had this blood blister/bruise thing on her leg. A doctor told her it would be fine as long as she she didn't try and pop it. Well later on that day it popped on it's own. That was on Thursday. Today she went to Urgent Care and they told her it was infected. I couldn't go to the doctor with her because I had to work, so when she gets home I'll see if she has any more info on how bad the infection is and whatnot. PS It is soooooo awesome to post some thing that I know for a fact has not been posted before!! BOOYAH!! Hehe. Sorry. |

Re: My Mom's Infected Leg Wound.
Wow..... That's a REALLY bad infection. I could tell she needed antibiotics from the pics. My 4 year old bites his nails and ripped the cuticle. It got infected and the infection wouldn't clear up. We took him to urgent care and found out it was a staph infection. He had to have antibiotics and the fingernail fell off cause the infection moved up under the nail. Pretty gross. |

Re: My Mom's Infected Leg Wound.
yeowch, poor little dude. staph infections are nasty let me tell you. i nearly lost my finger to an awful staph infection (my first) when i was two years old - luckily it was treated really well and i had super awesome infant healing powers, so i was lucky enough to get away with only one less long tendon, a crooked finger and a scar right down my palm.

Re: My Mom's Infected Leg Wound.
dang, that's a huge area of redness, there...usually with bad infections like that, the dr.s start wanting to mark the skin with ink around the periphery of the redness to track the spread...or lack of. Hope she feels better soon. That black area will slough off. Get pix of that, too. lol...Does she know you posted her leg pic?

Re: My Mom's Infected Leg Wound.
I asked her if I could. She didn't care because you can't see her face. She saw her doc again today and they said that it looks better. She doesn't think it's going to need to be sloughed off. It really does look a lot better then the day I took these pics. Thanks for your concern everyone! |
