Re: My Husbands Copperhead Bite

I didnt as he got bit at work. I just met him at the ER. Thank you for the well wishes. :)

We went to his check up and there is not permanent tissue damage but the swelling will probably stick around for up to 6 weeks he said. Lots of ligament pain now but as of 2 days ago he has started walking almost normally. He cant bend his knee further than a 90 degree angle but that movement probably wont return until the swelling is down. He was marked down as having marked to severe envenomation so all in all he was very lucky. He received treatment very quicky and was able to start the antivenom within a few hours of the bite.

WOW, I just read all of this. So thankful he got treatment asap. Will he have to take off work (teaching?). Poor guy, as active as he is, this must be killing him to take time to recover! Put that cute nurse outfit on... Seriously, glad all worked out in his favor, it's scary to think of what could have happened. xoxo

One tough nation, yup. You appear to know him well and accept him fully for who he is. Sounds like a good thing y'all have got goin' there. Glad to hear his recovery is going well.

Re: My Husbands Copperhead Bite

He is walking without a limp. Swelling still there but he was able to put a shoe on. It was a flip-flop but still counts right? He is going in to have the pressure tested in his calf tomorrow. They are concerned about compartment syndrome. I guess it can happen after rapid swelling or sustained swelling. Besides that he is doing fine. Seemingly no noticeable side effects from the antivenom or venom. Thanks for asking.
