Re: My Husbands Copperhead Bite

The swelling is going down quickly now. It starts going back up if he tries to be vertical for too long so I have him in bed with it propped up. He doesnt have the nausea today either. Perhaps he will get to go back to work Sat. He is pretty hard headed so he will do it just to prove himself to some others.

Re: My Husbands Copperhead Bite

Ouch.. We have plenty of those in Pennsylvania.. most prominent venomous snake here, other two being the Timber Rattlesnake and the Eastern Maussasauga Rattlesnake (Which is endangered).

Hopefully he has minimal tissue damage.
Should be fine though. probably sport a limp for a month.
(Some people don't even go to the E.R. for getting bitten by them, the ones that do usually are in too much pain and that alone is enough to get them to go there. Me? Hell yeah I'd go to the E.R. for a bite from one..lol)

Here's some more info on them.

A lot of times they will deliver a "warning" bite it seems and the victim will get little to no actual venom injected. The absence of bruising and discoloraion is usually how they can determine if it is just a bite or if the victim has been injected. That was what the doc was telling me anyway. They also get the anti-venom from sheep on a special farm out west. Who knew.

Re: My Husbands Copperhead Bite

Remember when you showed me the shoes he wore and I said I liked them but I prefer a higher top? Perhaps he wasn't wearing any at the time if it got him on the heel.

I'm curious, how much does it cost to ride down the river?
