Re: My Dog Attack

Well you must have done something wrong, dogs have more compassion then us so they don't hurt their own or humans. Ever!

Re: My Dog Attack

So I thought about this post and how I tried to talk shit to others with it. Sorry.

This was going to be a PM...

I'm sorry for my post in your thread. I just don't like people putting them over us when it comes compassion and such. I'm sorry for your pup, hope he/she isn't afraid of big dogs and still plays with other dogs. Hope you aren't afraid of doggies now. Not all dogs are great, or evil, or good. Just like people some are born good and some evil. Then we have the middle and depending on who looks at us,we could be good or evil.

Again, sorry for your pup and good to see someone fight back against a bad dog.
Hope you get well soon! Wish the best for your pup!!

Re: My Dog Attack

Hey, all that just reminded me of this : I've always been told that when you get attacked by a dog, what you should do is put your free arm behind its neck and try to break it (the dog's neck) by jerking the head upwards using the hand that's in its teeth.

I don't know if it's actually something you should / can do, and as I like dogs I find it a little disgusting to break one's neck... But it's still better than getting mauled by a big dog or something, I guess.

If it's not a life-threatening attack, you could do what you said, but instead of trying to break the neck, shove the arm that's in the dog's mouth further in to prevent it from locking its jaws. You want to do this very fast and you'll have a margin when you can pull your arm out while the dog deals with the pain it just felt. No long term damage to the dog, unless you're really strong and do it too hard.

Re: My Dog Attack

You say its the way they're risen but sometimes dogs just have that streak in them of viciousness no matter how well they're raised.

Re: My Dog Attack

[QUOTE=sweetie88;3564255]Sunny warm May time Yorkshire, just walking my two baby Shih Tuz's on a public nature walk, we were attacked by a demented hunting terrier, shook one of my babies by the head, i had a fight with it and this is what happenedl, lots of lacerations, it took two guys to get it off my arm, 3 months of hospital treatment for the severe infection, why do people have these awful dogs......
1st post i dont know if its interesting, hope it is.

Hope the othe pictures have loaded had a spot of bother with my system.

These are the real damage, the flap of skin necrotised and had to be debrided
My baby was fine had him checked over, the owner had no insurance, i lost 6 weeks of work, didnt get a penny compo, has left a nasty large scar on my lower arm, i am more careful these days, thanks for the interest.

Good to know, thanks.
(And less brutal than the neck-breaking thing. )

Re: My Dog Attack

That's a pretty bad bite, and I'm glad you didn't come off worse than that; hope your own pups are well.

Nothing pisses me off more than an owner who raises a crap dog, then lets it run loose. The few times I've had to deal with such dogs, I've not been hurt badly, and I've not been angry at the dog... but I've been furious with the owners. I'd snot them in the face if it weren't for the fact that it would destroy my reputation working with animals.
