Same surgery, left elbow. (also had wrist done same procedure.) Surgery was early 2012. Follow that up Post-op infection.. Week after surgery, doctor removed the post-operative bandage and was oozing. Went home, ate, took a nap, woke up to fever, chills,swelling etc. Hospital next day, removed all sutures and left it heal inside out while on antibiotics/daily cleaning. Spent a week in the hospital and nearly lost my arm to infection/compartment syndrome.   Steri strips are annoying if you ask me..they don't do anything.. But fall off  .. have had irritation from several adhesives myself.Just my leftover scar.. :/  · |

Yikes!! I'm going to try to get a pic of it now. When he was in there-the other nerve they attach it to had tons of scar tissue on it....so that made my incision bigger and surgery longer :(

I have a tape allergy so I totally sympathize with you. as for the the scar use selson blue on it. it'll get rid of it.

Wouldn't even have a scar if they didn't have to remove the sutures.. had to go in and clean it 2-3 times daily wily with swabs/peroxide thil it closed (about 2-3 weeks) Can't even see them on either of my wrists. |

This pic was taken was fresh out of post-op bandage at the doc's office week after the surgery. (Note, seeping fluid. was bad..like pouring out for a bit until he came in to re-bandage me.) Not much of a gape there... until after they rip the sutures out. (infection and compartment sydrome was beginning to occur.)  · |
