My Arm

I had a HUGE mastisol reaction (the adhesive they use to apply steri strips) after having ulnar nerve transposition surgery last year. I had a cast on and a few days after surgery I had an unbearable itch and went back to the surgeon-they took my cast off 2 weeks early and uncovered this...my skin was sloughing off and had huge blisters. Surgeon said it was the worst he has seen. I had to bathe my arm in rubbing alcohol to get the remaining mastisol off. Worst itch of my life! I now have a scar from the incision and a big rectangle scar around it from the skin that sloughed off.

Re: My Arm

Re: My Arm

Kinda makes you forget the original surgery pain, I bet! I would be going at that itch with a hairbrush!

Re: My Arm

It's completely healed now. I had no pain from surgery at all. And I went at it with a crochet hook when I had the cast on lmao!

Re: My Arm

I'd be dunking that in ice. So itchy! I react really badly to mosquito bites - whole arm/leg swells up, blisters, rash etc. You have my sympathy!
