Muscular Dystrophy

Muscular Dystrophy is a group of inherited neuromuscular disorders which are characterized by progressive muscle weakness and muscle wasting due to the malfunction of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. The disease leads progressively to the inability to move, eat and breathe.

Re: Muscular Dystrophy

One of my students has MD as his primary diagnosis and he actually looks a little like this guy. Wheelchair bound and pretty crooked and atrophied. But a little treatment goes a long way. I feel like a few body braces could have slowed or stopped the condition from progressing to this point

And physical therapy. My cousin has MD and she has had open heart surgery several times and has a trach. She's lived pretty long, she'll be 39 this year....a long time for MD. Her doctors have said that PT is good, as well as massage. I'm an LMT and have had treatment plans for her.
