Re: Mountain Biker with Handlebars Impaled in Knee Area
The end of the handle that penetrated is hollow..I'm thinking maybe just like when they use a hollow needle for piercing, the blood went in the handle. Either way this is gonna be his party story for a longgg time.

Re: Mountain Biker with Handlebars Impaled in Knee Area
Didn't someone comment on a different set of impalement pictures that impalements usually did not involve a lot of blood because the object that is stuck is actually blocking the blood flow? I think that's why doctors always say that if anywhere on your body is stuck with large pieces of wood or metal, or in particular, if you're stabbed and the knife is left in, never pull it out...you'll probably end up bleeding to death before help can arrive if you do.

How? on that track? it's flat! I could vaguely understand on a downhill track with jumps, but how did he separate from his bike enough on the flat? |
