The Most Horrific Beijing Olympics Moment: Weightlifter Snaps Arm
August 13th, 2008, the lone Hungarian weightlifter, Janos Baranyai attempted to lift over 328 pounds of weight. His elbow popped out, completely backwards, as he lay on the floor screaming in pain.

János Baranyai (born June 24, 1984) is a former Hungarian weightlifter and a former judo wrestler from Oroszlány, Hungary.

He competed at the 2006 World Championships and 2007 World Championships in the 77 kg category, ranking 33rd in both events.

On August 13, 2008 at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, Baranyai suffered a dislocated elbow while attempting to lift 148 kg in the men's 77 kg snatch.

Prior to the Beijing Olympics, Baranyai had placed 9th in the snatch at the 2008 European Championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy with a 147 kg snatch, and finished 8th overall with a total of 325 kg
