Re: More Anorexia Pics
A relative of mine was bulimic. She thought she was fooling everyone by leaving the table after every meal, disappearing into the bathroom, emerging after 10 minutes smelling of toothpaste. Were to put the blame? Childhood trauma? Peer pressure? Self loathing? Fashion magazines? IMO, I think they are no different than women who eat to obesity to cover the pain in their hearts. Changing the body so that it is unrecognizable to themselves - whether it is to the point of skin and bones or mass. Fashion magazines? No. Too easy to put the blame on them. Anorexics actually cover up in layers to hide their weight from family. I think childhood/teen trauma is to blame. If something happened to a child (under 18), whether it be rape, divorce, a death, etc., the child feels not in control. Thus controlling weight and achieving the goal of losing weight is something the person can control. Abra, I hope you find and face the reason for your illness. I hope you give it a great big kick in the ass so that you can be comfortable in your skin. My relative never did and she is dead now. She died and her demons won. |

Re: More Anorexia Pics
ive been where you are hun and ive come out the other side. You will only change when u want to, people nagging doesnt help, just makes the guilt worse and strengthens the cycle. I think the women in the pictures look amazing, its a shame they, the models, are prepared to die for their art . i wish you health, happiness and an inner peace.
