It depends on the person. Some end up with chronic depression because of the neurotoxic effects meth has on the brain. Those that tweak to the point where they have a psychotic episode may remain in that state for a very long time. The majority of hardcore/long term tweakers who maintain lucidity after/if they stop tweaking end up uninterested in things which naturally trigger dopamine release such as sex, comfort foods and exercise. Many of them end up having to take antidepressants, neuroleptics and other prescription psychotropic medications depending on what state of mind they're in. Believe it or not, a very small percentage of them are able to function/contribute in/to society and for as much as 30 years from what I've seen, heard and read. But hey, sex on it is incredible although I wouldn't recommend it. I've tried it... You go for hours before you either suffer a heart attack or ejaculate. Same with house music for some reason. |

The "drug induced psychosis " of meth is dissimiliar from alcoholic wetbrain in fundamental ways - and is not necessarily permanent , at all . My sister is a mental health worker and substance abuse rehabilitation facilitator - she helps marginalized people get into treatment . |

I have seen people pick themselves just right rugged before. I knew a guy that when we got high he would clip his nails, then cuticles, the the callus on the tips of his fingers then into the meat of them....got so bad when we got high together we would duck tape wool mittens on his hands...true story. Meth being such a drain on your antibodies and platelets to rebuild tissue it takes forfuckingever to heal! I never seen anyone that fucking picked out though......I seen a couple huge goiters but that is it |
