due to the look of the wound and treatment of it, I would guess this individual was a diabetic and that the cut had trouble healing. mercury poisoning wouldn't cause those types of problems.

I read this was somewhat of a hoax and there is no concrete proof that the damage was caused by mercury lightbulbs. **shrugs**

That must have been caused by the mercury. Stepping on glass would not cause your entire foot to rot, unless you left it and didn't go to hospital for 2 weeks. |
