There is a procedure called maggot debridement therapy, that's been used for a long time. So, what's here may be a good thing.

What I find odd is that there can be so many, I mean you'd think that the movements would be so uncomfortable that the person would even put their foot in bleach water to kill them off and then wrap up the foot with something tight... I feel like that could be accomplished even if you were homeless.
