Neglected Breast Cancer Case Due to Superstitious, Alcoholic Husband
The patient came forward three and a half years ago with a small lump in her breast, diagnosed to be suffering from cancer of breast stage one, she was advised to undergo surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She was even admitted by her relatives but, her husband came and got her discharged saying that they need time to think, decide and consult other doctors. They did not get surgery due to superstitions that if scissors are applied the cancer will spread and an alcoholic husband who starts drinking from early morning onwards and does not care about her. She went to many places - hospitals, religious places, to doctors of other pathies. Some gave her false hopes and others asked her to undergo proper treatment of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, hormonal therapy but she due to superstitions and family problem progressed to this stage where she has a fungating, foul smelling growth with distant metastasis. |

That's disturbing  What a moronic husband indeed. I bet if his booze somehow managed to get cancer, he'd fly to the moon and back searching for the best cure. Superstitions wouldn't matter in that case, unlike in the case of his wife  |
