Re: Man Removes Lump From Forearm In Self Surgery

It looks like a lipoma, which is basically just a fatty tumor right under the skin.
I had one next to my navel ring last year. I could roll the lump around just like guy in video. It started to get tender so I went to the doc. (Side note: LOL I have military insurance and love it) He excised it in the same manner as video guy, but first he injected Lidocaine. He wasn't going to biopsy. He said if it looks and feels like a fatty tumor, it is a fatty tumor. I insisted that he do the biopsy, which came back as a "Lipoma". Wish I would have thought to take photos or video.
Here's a pic of a lipoma I found on wikipedia

Re: Man Removes Lump From Forearm In Self Surgery

Americans are taxed just as badly as Canadians and paid less on average for the privilege. But, at least some of our stolen tax dollars are used to acutally keep us alive. Look into the stats, Americans don't live as long as the rest of the developed world, nor do they grow as tall on average. These are all benchmarks of the health of a population. I'm not fighting with you, I have respect for your military service. However, I think people shouldn't be reduced to performing self-surgery in a country that tells the rest of us that it is the greatest, best country on the planet. (yes I have watched Hannity for shits and giggles, and yes, I assume he is your national spokesman ). I hope this helps clear up the irony of my original comments.
p.s. Don't believe the hype your media tells you about Canadian healthcare, we have no problems getting the services we need. That's just something they like to tell you so you won't demand universal healthcare.
You forget that a lot of other countries don't suffer from obesity like our country does, and aren't as spread out. Laziness and fattening food can do a lot to shorten peoples' lives.

And people still come here from other countries to get treated. Not saying our health care is perfect, but socialization is not the way to go.

Re: Man Removes Lump From Forearm In Self Surgery

The guy is an idiot. He went through all that for a fatty tumor. They are called lipomas and are harmless. And no ones health insurance would probably cover it because it would be considered a cosmetic surgery. LAME
