Rabies is a mammal virus - so you're not going to get it from birds. You get it from wet saliva(no virus after it has dried) or brain tissue. You cannot get it through intact skin. Only on broken skin or mucus membranes. You cannot get it through urine, feces or blood. |

You have to get the shots immediately. If you wait until symptoms start, there's nothing that can be done. Many people don't go to the doctor until they're feeling sick. Huge mistake when coming into saliva contact with any mammal(pet/feral/wild) that does not have a record of proven rabies vaccination. |
