Maggot therapy is used legally in the UK, United States, Japan, and Australia (to name but a few). They breed sterile maggots and use them. It's a clean, safe and effective. Quote:

Heard of fly strike in animals? Where flies lay their eggs around the animal's bum and when they hatch they basically eat the animal alive- not dying flesh but perfectly healthy flesh. |

Re: Man Alive As Maggots Dig Hole in His Head
I don't think that was maggot therapy- they were all different sizes and if you look closely different types of larvae. The man clearly wasn't well- I am guessing he had been living on the streets- drugs? Maybe an abcess or even tumour that burst. Also in maggot therapy a thin layer of gauze is placed over the wound to keep the little bastards where they should be. |

To reiterate cocopoop, THIS IS NOT MAGGOT THERAPY ITS MYIASIS. Or "human fly strike" Quote:
Myiasis is common in livestock and 3rd world countries where people live like livestock! Quote:
On a positive note according to wikipedia, the limb salvage rate is as high as %50. (limbs that dont have to be amputated after all!) |
