Some of these ladies from the link would be very popular with Rudy Vallee. He was a 1930's crooner who would sing with a megaphone. He has a thing for "dark-haired ladies with long red fingernails".

I have naturally long, strong fingernails. I keep them nicely trimmed because I break one accidentally it hurts like a you know what!! I cannot imagine that mess like these women, YIKES!!!
