Re: Lets Try These Shoes On...

Watching my father drop dead at when I was 17, with no time to say goodbye was my first experience. Then in 2004 I was blessed with a beautiful babygirl. Ten days later I awoke to find her deceased, SIDS. Kudos to you for posting your story, serving our country, and being huMAN enough to say just exactly how you feel. I agree there are some truly inconsiderate posts here. But it just shows the intelligence of those who have legit feedback.

Re: Lets Try These Shoes On...

I got no pictures but my story is pretty bad.
When I was in 7th grade, age 11 on February 12, 2006 my parents were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. Thankfuly my older brother at age 18 gave up college to take care of me. Even though he took custody of me I am still a diffrent person, I suffer from depression and anxiety from what happened 3 years ago. Whenever I hear someone say something about them wanting their parents to just leave them alone or that they're annoying I just flip shit, they don't know how lucky they are to have someone who literally loves you with all their heart. Life is just hard.

Man, that's really rough - but what your brother is doing is truly amazing...I hope that you two have been able to lean on each other...I don't blame you for the flip outs, people really don't know what they have until it's gone...

Having someone there that is coming from the same place and truly cares is indispensible...I truly feel blessed that I haven't lost either of my parents yet (technically my mom and step dad, but he's my dad to me)...and I hope that I don't have to go through that any time soon...

I did; my first fiance, who I had been with since first grade...drunk driver, hit and run...I blamed myself for not being there with her that day for a long time, and really came close to trying to find and kill the driver and the judge that slapped his wrist instead of giving my Elizabeth justice...took a long, long time to get my shit straight after that...
