Re: Legless
I suppose he's in mental shock. "What happened?!! I need to get up and walk this off. Umm... WHERE'S MY LEGS?!!!" As to why no one comforted him, I suppose they are in shock as well, they probably don't know him, he's a bloody mess, and they are too freaked out and disgusted to touch him... If he was a friend or cousin or brother or child we would likely see a different reaction. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry, it depends on the mood I am in that day. Watching anything like this on a screen puts a layer or two or more in between the happening and myself, that distance makes it possible for me to laugh sometimes at the horrific absurdities of life. I don't feel any guilt for that, it protects my mind from needless pain. We laugh so that we don't cry. |

Re: Legless
As terrible as this looks, there have been more than a few who have recovered from this kind of thing and have gone on to live and even get jobs! The first one was a Police Officer, (from where I do not remember) who was cut in half by a truck. I felt so sad for him but he survived! He was just half a man and they made a prosthetic lower half and he was able to "walk" around and have a life. I feel terrible for this man on this post because NO ONE is even comforting him!!
