As a person that passes about a stone a year I can tell you that they can make you pass out! They rip the sides of the tube that goes from your kidney to your bladder as they work their way through. I had a prescription for a heavy dose of Dilaudid a few months ago for a stone and it didn't even put a dent in that pain.
