I've Developed Urge Incontinence

Yet another grim reality of head injuries/strokes/haemorrahges. This affliction makes me feel as a woman.

I was not warned about this as it doesn't always happen to patients.

I can be sat down at the computer, watching telly, etc, feel nothing then as I get up...whoosh!!! Oh dear God. And I cannot hold it in to save myself or do pelvic floor exercises as the muscles there simply do not work from the brain damage caused. I had to but a Radar key which unlocks all disabled toilets in the UK so I can just dive in anyone if needs be.

Spazzy leg and spazzy bladder!!

Urge incontinence is caused by the bladder sending a message to the brain that it's full, often too early and the bladder muscle starts to contract too early (also called bladder instability). These abnormal bladder contractions cause a force strong enough to override the sphincter muscles of the urethra (urine tube) and allow urine to pass out of the bladder. The bladder may experience abnormal contractions for the following reasons:

The bladder may not be functioning properly because its nerves are damaged by various diseases such as stroke, dementia, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease.

Urinary tract infections (UTI)

Spinal cord may be damaged.

The bladder may contract in reaction to certain stimuli, such as running water, putting a key in the door.once you arrive home.
My GP put me on the maximum dose of solifenacin succinate aka Vesicare which makes the bladder not as over-sensitive and retain urine better. It helps greatly.

On the image below, I'm problem 3 resulting from neurological disorders.

Isn't it horrible? All this grief, aggro and humiliation from a brain fart!
