In Italy, a 56-year-old man went out to mow the lawn in front of his house and accidentally drove a nail in his face. A piece of metal, about 2.5 centimetres long, flew out from under the mower and hit his left eyebrow. Walking a few millimetres from the eyeball, he damaged the muscle that lifts the eyelid. As a result, the man could not open his eyes.

The victim was taken to a hospital in the city of Verona. After a thorough examination, the doctors decided to remove the nail by gently shaking it until it fell out on its own. After 30 days, the man's vision was fully restored.
