Ingrown Infected Toenail Treatment
Dr. Leo Krawetz removes the granulation tissue which is infected tissue draped around the borders of the toe and the sides of the ingrown infected toenails. Pus is under the toe meat and is spewing from the sides of the toenail when the infection gets worse but the cure for an ingrown infected toenail is to remove the sides of the toe permanently. The procedure is called a matricectomy or matrixectomy and it is very satisfying to remove the piece of the toenail. Ingrown toenails are genetic so they are hereditary and get worse from pressure from the shoe on the side of the toe pushing on the toenail. This also will cause a red toe and antibiotics will be needed to cure the toe infection. Podiatrists in some countries are allowed to use anesthesia, in Brazil it is strictly prohibited. |

Re: Ingrown Infected Toenail Treatment
I've had extremely minor big toe infections that I easily fixed by removing the nail myself. I cannot imagine how painful that was before she got treatment. Mine were very sore and nowhere near this bad.
