Never heard of this before, they tend to heal too quick to get infected in the first place I thought. Worst I ever saw was my best friend and I got ours done the same day. We found out the next day that apparently she was allergic to surgical steel (her whole tongue swelled up so big she could barely talk.) Replaced the barbell with a gold one and VIOLA! Tongue all better and healed in 3 days or so.
