It is a cancer developing in lymphatic system. The tumor formed by the lymphatic cells is a solid one. Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma are its two types. The treatment for both the types is quite different, so it’s necessary for a doctor to recognize each one very well. The disease covers the whole body, firstly seen in neck and commonly found in livers. Most general symptom is the swelling of neck lymph nodes and other may include weight loss, heavy sweating at night and unusual fever. Treatment involves chemotherapy and radiotherapy or bone marrow transplantation. Cure depends upon the stage, type and histology of disease.

I lost my Dad to Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma when I was 10, although he never had anything like those pictures happen to him (thankfully).

Joey Ramone died from Lymphoma, but, I don't know which he had. He was talking and communicating with people near the end of his life, so I doubt he had any of the above effects.
