1) Those are rats, not mice. Naked rats are real and bred on, although they don't live as long as normal rats, and they easily get sick.

2) I think it's a great idea in one way, incredibly stupid in another. I mean, the rats don't suffer from it (though they might suffer from life in a lab?) but then again, is it really that necessary with a new ear i you lose yours?

Poor rats. Used again for medical science. Why the hell don't they let those body modification people use their penises for this kind of stuff. They could grow all kinds of stuff on them. I wouldn't have a problem with that, and think of the bragging rights when you flashed your dick with a gigantic ear on it!!
