Just to be clear, if you are ever in the situation of needing to bring some amputated part or other to the hospital, please do not put it directly on the ice. Wrap it in a bag or something first, then put that in either ice or slush. Directly on ice will cause more tissue damage and if it can be saved there will be better healing if it is wrapped up first.
