For anyone who wants to see the effects of Huntington's on a person, check it out: http://www.knowledge.ca/program/do-y...y-want-to-know One of the people profiled is an amazing guy named John Roder, who has pretty severe HD symptoms, yet still works as a scientist. Astoundingly brave. My dad was a professor, but he had to retire early and go on disability after falling off his bike and hitting his head, which accelerated the disease. He was simply unable to continue teaching, something he loved doing. Anyway, for those interested, it's a really good documentary. It deals largely with people like me, who are at risk of HD and contemplating whether or not to take the test. |
