Re: Hubby Shot Himself
I am glad he is okay but wow....that is really bad. This is why I want gun reform. What if a child had been in that bedroom or at the computer? What if he shot YOU!? If ppl want guns we should insist on courses and certifications. People should to get to know their weapon and be educated on its operations and functions. That way stupid things don't happen because its not just stupid but deadly. Also to prove you're capable of owning and handling it responsibly. Lastly I am sorry you're getting lectured for someone elses mistake.... I am sorry I did it too. Regardless, I am glad you're all okay. Now I'll jump off my high horse and go back to lurking.... |

Re: Hubby Shot Himself
I had my first gun at age 6 and have grown up around them. First husband was a hunting enthusiast, so yeah, house full of them. My second husband is a retired police officer and we have 3 gun safes. Needless to say, the FIRST damn thing you learn is to make a gun safe before cleaning. Pop out the clip and discharge any rounds that are chambered. I keep asking myself why the hell he was cleaning a loaded gun?!?!?!?!

Re: Hubby Shot Himself
For someone who has been around guns you should know a magazine is not a clip and a cartridge is not discharged to make a firearm safe it is ejected from the chamber(s) without firing then you visually check the chamber(s) and any non-detachable magazine in case of failure to eject or misfeed. There are a few firearms that retain a clip during firing ie Carcano, Garand, Hotchkiss and you actually do remove the clip to clear them but most designs including pretty much all pistols and postwar rifles/machineguns utilize a magazine and if a clip is used it is only used to load the magazine and is discarded immediately after loading so you would never be fooling with it come time to clear and clean your firearm. |

Re: Hubby Shot Himself
Sorry if damaged your fragile ego with my verbiage. I humbly apologize that I did not use the masterful terms that you are so hung up on. Not using appropriate terms does not constitute not knowing proper usage. You, on the other hand, most definitely do not have a fucking life if you become that damn livid over my post. Go back to short-shucking your tool and fuck off. I do have to add....... it seems like ANY time I see a comment by you, it is dealing with guns and ammo. Get out of the basement and try to socialize...... |

Re: Hubby Shot Himself
Sorry if I exposed your profound ignorance by introducing you to "masterful terms" like magazine, clip, discharge and eject. We basement people find it easier to use words to describe what we mean rather than pointing and grunting, or swearing incessantly to compensate for linguistic disability. My ego will survive your ignorance and short temper but it is rather disheartening people actually think they will look like less of an idiot if they hurl grade school insults whenever corrected. |
