I'm sorry, but I think most people are just beyond paranoid. I've eaten as I've handled reptiles and shared a spoon with my dog. I don't bother to hover over toilet seats because my knee just won't let me (torn ACL) and I simply don't care enough to worry about it. I was my hands after I use the bathroom 90% of the time. I don't usually if I'm at home unless I'm cooking or handling something clean (laundry for example). I say let children eat dirt and a few worms. I used to eat dog food with my dog Bear when I was a toddler. I turned out well enough.
